Service Description: Available across the South West Region, Group Services are flexible and provided in a group setting focusing on individual and group goal achievement, increased independence and quality of life * groups provided offer social, recreational, wellness, skill building, exercise and therapeutic activities * services are available on a short-term, transitional or lifelong basis

The Nigel and Rhonda Gilby Centre for New Tomorrows, located in London, offers access to an Adult Day Program for individuals with ABI (including stroke), as well as a Life After Stroke specialized Day Program in addition to a variety of group services 5 day a week with occasional evening and weekend activities.

BEST (Behaviour, Education, Support and Training) Team provides more intensive form of clinical consultation and intervention for community agencies, long-term care, hospitals * available when experiencing a crisis situation, when living arrangement or placement is at risk, or where caregiver capacity or available resources may be limited * services include assessment, development of individualized strategies and behaviour support plans, education, direct coaching, mentoring, and training * also provides transitional services from hospital to long-term care

Expanded Hours Open 4 nights a week, some Saturdays, and on Statutory holidays * actiivites held during this time may include hootenanny, music lessons, art lessons, pool nights, bingo, local theatre and games nights
 
Specialization
Acquired Brain Injury Follows a work-ordered day, split into 2 units (business/education and culinary/employment) which focus on strengths, talents, goals and abilities * clients and staff work side by side to fulfill the day-to-day operational needs of the Clubhouse * social leisure activities also offered
 
Nutrition
Snack Cookies, fruit and granola bars are available during the day for small fee
Meal Morning coffee and nutritious lunch available for small fee
Special Diet Diabetic, minced and personal preferences available when necessary
 
Health Care Assistance
Mobility Assistance

Wellness program offered * includes activities such as bi-weekly YMCA visits, meditation, yoga, tai chi, walking groups, golf, curling and educational sessions on nutrition
 
Other
Transportation On a well-serviced bus route * staff can help arrange transportation if needed
 

Fees: Individuals with third party funding attend at no cost

Eligibility / Target Population: Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant at least 18 years of age and have an acquired brain injury, including traumatic brain injury, infection, anoxia, aneurysm, tumor and stroke * must have valid Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card * must have free will commitment to rehabilitation and/or participation in Dale Brain Injury Services programs * serious medical issues must be stabilized
