Service Description: 15 adult psychiatric beds * team consists of psychiatrists, nurses, social worker, occupational therapist and activities coordinator

Safe environment for short-term, acute treatment to help people become stable * staff monitor medications, provide short-term counselling, complete discharge planning and make referrals to appropriate supports in the community

Psychiatrists with private practices are located in the Special Services Unit, along with one GP psychotherapist. Physician referral is required for consultation in psychiatry and can be made by fax to 519-272-8226.
