Service Description: Men's Programs

Court Mandated (PAR)Specialized group counselling to men been mandated by the court to attend in response to a criminal charge involving domestic violence * 12 session program provides individuals with an opportunity to examine their beliefs and attitudes towards domestic abuse and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict

Voluntary Counselling
Delivers specialized counselling services to men who wish to address issues of domestic violence * opportunity to examine beliefs and attitudes towards domestic abuse and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict

Caring Dads
Delivers specialized group counselling to fathers who are at risk of abusing, have abused their children or have physically/emotionally abused their children’s mother * 17 session program aims to support healthy father/child interaction and create healthy strategies for men to interact with the mother of the child

 Women's Programs

Women’s Intervention & SupportProgram Court Mandated (PAR)12 week court mandated group counselling program for women seeking support due to domestic violence related charges * learn tools designed with a woman centered approach to support healthier decision making strategies that create positive relationships within their lives
Victim/Partner/Mother Contact
Specialized counsellors make contact with the victim of assault/current partner of the client involved in the group counselling program *Services are voluntary in nature and are generally provided over the phone 

Meetings: Client groups usually run on Tue, Wed, Thu evenings, some weekday afternoons, and Sat mornings * frequency of client groups is dependent upon sufficient client referrals to run in a group format.
Fees: Client fee based on sliding scale
Application: Call to schedule an intake/assessment meeting * referrals initiated by the Criminal Justice system or other community agencies
Eligibility / Target Population: Men, 18 years and older, who wish to eliminate violent behaviour against their spouses/partners and who are able to benefit from a group program * both voluntary and court mandated
Partner Assault Response - Offenders 18 years and older, ordered by the court to attend the program in response to a criminal charge involving domestic violence
Languages: English * French
Language Notes: Interpretation available upon request
