Service Description: Special health services for children who require medical or rehabilitative assistance to attend school, participate in school routines and receive instruction * services are provided within public, private or home-based schools

Services available to eligible clients may include:
  • care coordination and system access including information and referral
  • nursing
  • physiotherapy and occupational therapy (home only)
  • speech-language therapy (home only)
  • diet and nutrition counseling


Health-related education, training and consultation services for school staff and parents in the school setting (nursing only)

Fees: Covered by OHIP
Application: Referral through school for in-school services
Eligibility / Target Population: Registered students up to age 25 as defined under the Education Act who have a valid Ontario Health Card, has assessed needs for nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech language pathology or diabetic services and requires those services to attend school, receive instruction or participate in school routines and who would experience a significant disruption in attendance, instruction, or participation without support of the program
